Based on 2 IMA case studies, we find Melissa Parks in the beginning of her accounting
career. We see the ethical issues that she must deal with along the way. From her
start as business office support for a public school district in Chicago through her time at
Watson Water Technologies, her father’s place of employment as well, Melissa
encounters various ethical dilemmas that require decisions to be made. Guided by her
understanding of ethics, pieces of legislation and sound advice from a close friend, we
follow her career path and evaluate each ethical dilemma considering both fictional and
real-life scenarios.
